A show that can run to two parts (1h30+interval) or an hour, based around a fixed frame tale and story selection from a pool of complementary tales, selected to fit the event. /

Four tales featuring…“detmined” women, would be one way of putting it… What happens when a father asks his a daughters a question he probably shouldn’t? Or when the Wolf comes calling? Hear tell of the girl who followed her dream, and nearly ended up losing it, and the other whose dream turned into a nightmare, if only she had realised it was so….

The Winter Cherries and Other Seasonal Tales Many people will be familiar with the tale of the Christmas feast at which King Uther, father of Arthur, tried to woo the Lady Igraine; but that feast was also the setting for another tale, of Sir Cleges, a once generous knight now fallen on hard times. By some miracle, his cherry tree bore fruit that midwinter Christmas day, but what happened next, when he tried to give the cherries to the King? ...

The Island Storytellers is a friendly and open-invitation storytelling group that meets on the second Wednesday of every month alternating mornings (11-1; Town Choice café, Newport, April/June/Oct/Dec) and evenings (7-9, Yelfs Hotel, Ryde, May/July/Sept/Nov) for a casual story circle somewhere on the Isle of Wight. Tellers and listeners alike, all welcome. Stories told, not read, and no longer than ~5 -8 minutes each, unless by arrangement. NEXT STORY CIRCLE — December ?? ...
